A Cappella Singers meet once a week before school in the choir room. First semester we prepare holiday and winter songs to share at community events. Second semester, we will prepare 1-2 pop a cappella selections for video/audio production and for performance at our concert in May. 

Adaptive Sports are sports exclusively for students that have been labeled with some sort of disability. They are varsity sports that compete with other teams from the Badger Conference. Each sport has coaches as well as assistants that make sure all players are included in the practices and games to the best of their ability. We focus on teaching the fundamentals of the sport as well as how to compete.

Art Club provides an opportunity for students who are interested in art to share experiences, further their art skills, and explore their creative ideas beyond art class. Students will have time to collaborate with other unique, diverse, and creative people. Students do not have to be enrolled in an art class to participate in art club. Meeting will be during Contact Time and / or after school. 

If you are interested in aviation as a career or as a hobby, become a part of this group of students who share your interest. The High School Aviation Club will meet weekly during Contact Time.

If you are interested in growing a friendship with a student with a disability, this is the club for you!  Best Buddies helps foster friendships through fun activities.

Black Student Union (BSU) is an organization that gives Black Students a voice and a safe place to talk about what it is like to be black in our school & community. It’s an organization that supports Blacks and affirms their culture; it’s a family.

Chamber Orchestra is comprised of advanced orchestra students who audition to learn a more challenging orchestral repertoire. Chamber rehearsals on Monday mornings before school.

Chinese Club is to introduce Chinese culture to students and community and promote the growth of the Chinese program. Club activities may include watching Chinese movies and discussing them afterward; Bringing in homemade Chinese food and sharing with the class; Chinese calligraphy; Chinese checkers; Chinese go and Majjang; Ping-Pong; Shuttlecock, Chinese paper cutting, Chinese songs & dances, Chinese Kong Fu like Tai chi, and celebrating Chinese festivities like Chinese New Year.

Class officers are designed to keep the class running smoothly and to be an advocate for their graduating class.  Class officers must attend mandatory meetings and actively participate in the organization and planning of certain events throughout the school year, including Homecoming.  Class officers are elected by their graduating class in the spring of each year.

Club America is the successor of the former Young Conservatives Club.  Our mission is to educate students about the importance of freedom, free markets, and limited government. Our bi-weekly meetings are a no pressure way to catch up with like minded friends, chat about current events and conservative principles, and participate in activities. Any student is welcome to join us to be empowered with knowledge and strategies to make a positive difference within your classroom and the Waunakee community.

Open to any student who is interested in learning about nature, participating in outdoor activities, and helping to improve and take care of the school grounds and other local nature preserves.

Consort is a small ensemble of 10-12 grade orchestra students who explore, organize and arrange folk music to study and perform.

Computer Science Club is an active club, though it functions a bit differently than many others. Students participate independently, often working on personal projects. While we previously held in-person meetings, the current model emphasizes individual learning and exploration. Students connect and share their work through the same dedicated and secure server I use for my classes.

DECA is a leadership organization for students in grades 9-12 preparing for or interested in business and marketing careers. Members can be involved through competition with other high school students at the local, state, and national levels and can gain community service hours through volunteering opportunities. Meetings will be monthly and will be announced via social media, DECA Schoology page, and through the daily announcements. Request to be a part of the group by emailing either an officer or one of the advisors.

The Drama Club is open to any student who is interested in theater. We meet monthly during contact time and for special events. Members are strongly encouraged to volunteer to assist events in the PAC. Students who are active in the club and plays can earn points toward induction into the Thespians Honor Society.

Los Soñadores: The Dreamers is a Latinx leadership group that focuses on personal growth through mentoring, college and career readiness, community networking, and mutual support. We celebrate and explore our Latinx culture through volunteer work and field trips.

High School Esports League was founded in 2012 and remains the largest and longest-running competitive gaming organization for high school students. We are partnered with over 3,100 schools and have over 100,000 participating students — and growing! The organization harnesses students’ passion for video games through organized competition and academics, resulting in better engagement, better GPAs, and better attendance, all while competing for college scholarships every season.

Environmentally Compassionate Organization is a club that meets to discuss and learn more about environmental issues.

FBLA is an organization for students interested in leadership, business, marketing, information technology, or public speaking.  The organization is open to all students in grades 9-12.  Students involved in FBLA have the opportunitiy to compete against other students across the region, state and nation in an event of their choosing. FBLA works to provide community service and leadership opportunities for members. To learn more about FBLA contact Ms. Holmes or Ms. Schalk.

FCCLA is a youth group that works in conjunction with Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) classes. Emphasis is placed on leadership skills, personal growth. Volunteering for the community is also a priority. Members can be involved in competitions with other high school students at the regional, state and national levels.

The National FFA Organization is dedicated to helping students develop premier leadership, personal growth and career success within the field of agriculture. The Waunakee FFA membership is an intra-curricular component to our agricultural department and membership in the Waunakee FFA Chapter is gained through enrolling in an Ag course or by any student who is interested in the wonderful field of agriculture!

The focus of this club is to provide an extracurricular co-ed and adaptive activity for students in Grades 6-12.

FCA is a Christian faith based club that is open to any student, regardless of interests, but with an emphasis on the student athlete. Evening meetings center around growing in faith and fellowship by engaging in faith based conversation, teaching, and regular activities.  All students are welcome to participate in any meeting that their schedule allows. 

The Fishing Club meets once a month to talk about fishing and to plan outings.  Along with monthly club meetings, we informally meet on Fridays to talk about fishing plans for the weekend, watch videos, and learn about the different and new techniques of fishing.

Folk Band is open to any orchestra student (Gr. 10-12) who is interested in learning and performing folk music at orchestra concerts and certain community events. Folk Band meets on Friday mornings before school.

Public speaking and communication are essential skills. Forensics is dedicated to helping students build the confidence and talent to perform in public. As a Forensics team, students will compete in a wide variety of acting, storytelling, and public speaking events.

The French Club is open to any interested high school student. Activities revolve around French and francophone countries’ food, culture and language. French Club generally meets during Contact Time, with occasional activities outside the school day.

The focus of this club is to expand the students' understanding of a career in education during monthly meetings.  Members participate in volunteering, job shadowing, and visits to Madison College & UW-Madison to explore education programs.

Future Liberal Leaders' (FLL) mission is to make a positive change in the community by connecting through our shared beliefs and working to be better activists. FLL members meet biweekly to talk about issues in our world, work through ways students can help, and participate actively in the wider community. 

FPS is an international program focusing on critical and creative thinking, problem solving, and decision making through global competition. Students compete as individuals or as part of a team of peers by employing a 6-step process to respond to problems presented through future scenes based on different topics throughout the year. There is also an option to enter a global creative writing competition that you can enter whether you compete in the problem solving competition or not!

Funded by the Pay it Forward Club, GROW, the garden and compost program is a year round commitment to provide healthy and nutritious produce to local families in need and the school food service program, as well as education with a focus on individual sustainability and our impact on a larger scale to our students. Teachers, students and the community are invited to collaborate with Pay-it-Forward and GROW.

GSA is a student-run club which provides a safe place for straight and LGBTQ+ students to meet, support each other, work to end homophobia and transphobia, and talk about issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity and expression. Sometimes we bake things.

HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the healthcare industry and to enhance the delivery of quality healthcare to all people.

Jazz Combo is the small group ensemble that focuses on improvisation and is not skill or ability based. Combo members are the main soloists for the jazz ensembles although other members are encouraged to try solos as well. Open to guitar, piano, bass, and drum set players as well.

Jazz Ensemble is open to any musician regardless of expereince. We focus on learning the style of jazz as well as performing as part of an ensemble member in the group. Improvisation is taught, but not required to be in the group. We rehearse twice a week, once in the evening and once before school. Guitar, piano, bass players encouraged to try it out!

Kee Notes is a hard-working, dedicated group of outstanding musicians that study and prepare vocal jazz music. The group meets two mornings a week from 7:00-8:00 a.m. Auditions for this ensemble occur in May for the following school year.

Letters of Love is a non-profit organization that provides emotional support to terminally ill children in children's hospitals worldwide. By writing heartfelt cards, you can brighten a kid's day!

LMTC Book Club is a relaxed environment where students read a book the group helps choose each month.  We meet during contact time and discuss the book and enjoy each others' company

For students who enjoy Japanese anime and manga (a type of Japanese comic books), as well as related games, food, and activities

Open to all interested students. Provides opportunities to compete as an individual and as a team in local math competitions. Geometry and Advanced Algebra students are encouraged to join as there are JV level competitions.

We’re a student-led club focused on fighting food insecurity in our community through food drives, volunteering, and student-led outreach. We’ll organize donation events, connect with our local food pantry, and create ways for students to get involved in our school and community

Mental Wellness Club is a student-led club that volunteers with local groups to raise awareness and provide support for individuals that may be experiencing mental health challenges. We run workshops for teens to provide tools to manage mental health issues for loved ones or oneself.

MSAN is a club that focuses on projects around racial and social justice. Each year we attend the National Student MSAN conference to collaborate with schools across the United States on topics that impact our schools. We also create an action plan and work with district leaders and the school board. 

Students will spend the season constructing arguments for a case and will be given opportunities to present their case against students from other districts. Attorneys will be involved to provide guidance and coaching. Great experience for any students looking to develop interpersonal skills, explore careers in law or law enforcement, and make great friends!

A student-led club focused on international affairs and the activities of the United Nations. Students attend up to 3 MUN conferences, including hosting our own WaunaMUN. Our year culminates in an overnight conference in Chicago, where students embody a delegation from one of the nearly 200 nations in the UN, negotiating and debating with students representing other countries in order to find solutions to the world's problems.

Do you enjoy riding bikes? ALL students grades 6-12 are invited to be part of the team. High schoolers have the opportunity to earn a varsity letter. No previous mountain biking experience necessary.

National Honor Society (NHS) promotes, encourages, and recognizes students who have achieved academic excellence, displayed leadership qualities, good character and have given of their time in school and community service. Sophomores and Juniors are invited to join in February each year they have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.6

NTHS is an educational non-profit that exists to honor, recognize, and empower students and teachers in Career & Technical Education. As the honor society for Career & Technical Education, NTHS serves over 100,000 active members annually in both secondary and postsecondary chapters across country.

The Non-Athletic Competition League (NACL or “SALT”) is a club about tabletop games. We play games of all kinds, e.g. Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, and many board games.

Every fall, interested students produce a one act play for entry in the WISDAA Wisconsin State Theater Festival. Auditions (open to all students) are at the beginning of the first semester. Rehearsals are scheduled after school during September, October, and November. Performances start mid-to-late October. The State Theater Festival is the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Pay It Forward (PIF) is a student organization committed to improving the lives and well-being of people locally and around the world, while fostering civic-minded leadership. Fundraising and service opportunities are available throughout the year.

Pickleball Club organizes free play in the gym and outdoors to share our love of the fastest growing sport in the US. Open to all students of all levels to come enjoy the socialization and the sport.

An organization that has an opportunity to weigh in on what is occurring in our school community. Information is also in the class meetings video or slideshow. If you are a 9th grade student and want to be part of this organization, introduce yourself to Mr. Borowski.

This is the high school newspaper that any student can join at any time. Students considering a career in journalism should consider being a part of the staff. Both reporters and photographers are needed.

The Science Club is open to all students who enjoy having fun with science related activities such as: engineering contests, zoo trips, museum trips, and the annual Chicago Trip. 

The Science Olympiad Club prepares students to compete at the Regional and State Science Olympiad Tournaments. Students engage in science and engineering practices and compete against local and state-wide teams.

SkillsUSA is a nationwide organization serving any student interested in preparing for a career in technical, skilled, or service occupations. The organization is led by a student officer team. Members have the opportunity to attend career-related conferences and competitions at the district, regional, state, and national levels.

Membership is open to anyone interested in Hispanic cultures.

This organization is open to sophomores through seniors by invitation only, based on previous participation in Spanish Club, overall GPA, and GPA in Spanish classes. This organization explores culture and traditions throughout the Spanish-speaking world with a service component required.

In the spring season interested students produce a full length musical. Auditions (open to all students) are at the beginning of the second semester. Rehearsals are scheduled after school during February, March, and April. The performances are on the first weekend in May.

For students who enjoy reading and a laid back, low pressure atmosphere, the Student Book Club may be for you. We meet once per month during Contact Time to talk about books and to choose a book to read.

The Student Council of Waunakee High School serves as a liaison between the administration, faculty, students and community. They work for the welfare and service of all these groups.

The International Thespian Society is a worldwide honors program for students involved in theater. Membership is earned through participation (both onstage and offstage) in dramatic productions.

The Writing Club is a fun way to engage in a variety of different writing-related activities, such as practicing college prompts, participating in writing competitions, and simply free-writing with friends

Warrior Media, winner of Best Livestream Production & Student Crew at the 2025 Daktronics Student Showcase, is one of the nation’s top high school livestream programs. We produce Waunakee Athletics broadcasts with photography, play-by-play, commentary, graphics, video, and social media. Our crew works with professional-grade cameras, equipment, and software used in the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and NCAA. Members are paid $10–$15/hour, can earn class credit, and have opportunities for Youth Apprenticeships, as well as collegiate networking and internships through Daktronics Crew Connect.

The Warrior Pep Band plays at selected home boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, & hockey games during the winter sports season plus possible post-season tournaments. Warrior Pep Band is a co-curricular activity. Students who sign up for Warrior Band are expected to commit/attend to the performance schedule. This group has performed at Milwaukee Bucks games, State tournaments, and tours at Elementary and Intermediate schools.

In the winter season, interested students produce a full length play. Auditions (open to all students) are in December. Rehearsals are scheduled after school during December, January and February. The performances are on the third or fourth weekend in February.

High School students in Wisconsin who are interested in government and politics are invited to compete at a Virtual Regional competition from WHS. Finals are at the State Capitol. All are welcome to gather and prepare for the competition. Winning team members at the State competition each receive $2000 scholarship for a Wisconsin school of their choice.

Yearbook runs as a year-long class open to students in Grades 10-12.
