1. Attention freshmen and sophomores: If you didn't get to hear about the Science & Service trip to Peru in 2027, here's the information. Please see Ms. Shaffar in 1512 with any questions. This will be a trip of a lifetime in the heart of the Amazon rainforest.

2. Take (or print out) this Parent Letter and Interest form. Complete in your own handwriting. Return to the High School main office or email a scan/picture of it to margaretshaffar@waunakee.k12.wi.us. Complete it by the end of this current school year (ASAP). This helps Ms. Shaffar prioritize you in the event that we have too many applicants later.
3. Stay tuned in future school announcements and newsletters for the Trip Parent/Student Registration Meeting around the start of the 2026-27 school year! (late Aug./early Sept.)

3. Prom is this Saturday April 18th, 7-10pm here in the HS commons. Only Juniors and Seniors are allowed. Freshman and sophomores may attend only if they are a guest of a junior or senior WCHS student. Tickets are 15$ and must be purchased through the Infinite Campus School Store. Guest forms are available in the main office and must be completed and returned by the end of the day Wednesday April 15th. The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday the 17th at noon. There will be no ticket sales at the door, no exceptions. All students MUST bring a valid ID to be allowed into this event. No entry after 8:30pm.
4. A Cappella Singers will rehearse on Thursday morning at 7:15 due to the Pre-ACT testing on Wednesday.
5. Attention Students and Staff!!
April 13-17 is Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness week in the state of Wisconsin. Consequently, we will be participating in a Tornado Drill at 2:15pm on Thursday, April 16. Please talk to your 4th hour teacher if you have any questions. Thank you in advance for your participation.
6. SENIOR Art Show
Share Your Creativity from your high school art classes
All seniors are invited to bring in artwork from their time at WCHS to be displayed in a Senior Art show. You do not have to currently be in an art class to have your artwork in the show. This show will take place on May 13th from 5-7pm, just before Senior Scholarship night. The artwork itself can be anything from Freshman-Senior year.
To include your artwork in the show please bring it to Ms. Zocher’s classroom (room 1611) by May 1st. Be sure to have your first and last name with the artwork.

7. Madison College Accepted Student Day is almost here! Madison College Advisors will be assisting seniors with Madison College course registration on Tuesday, April 21, from 9-2pm in the counseling office conference room. Please make sure you have signed up for a time slot through the link that you received in your school email. If you have any questions, please stop by the counseling office and see Mr. Landis.
